sweat

spent my evening taking advantage of the only positive attribute of this investment where i live.

the sauna.

spent over an hour in 200 degree heat. i do some of my best thinking while in the the lil cedar box that facilitates detoxifying sweat. i watch the beads gather and travel down my body . each bead with a different destination and taking with it the impurities.

i am a better person when i leave than when i go in.

simple pleasures.

All Hallows Eve

i know not of such things available to the world of those who have such power...i post this as a internet "how-to..."

Casting Love Spells or Magic Spells.

A love spell or any magic spell should not be done in a casual, offhand manner at the height of a desperate emotion. Love Spells and Magic Spells often go awry when we cast them in the heat of the moment or on a whim. When we do not take the time to think about what we want to do then we get in over our heads and have all kinds of problems.

If you are performing your own Magic Spell, start to think and then start to write. What is the purpose of this spell? What do you want it to do? How can it go awry? What are all of the possible outcomes?
If you are comfortable with these thoughts then start to think about what you will need, tools wise. Start to gather your ingredients, what are they? What is the perfect time of the month? Is there a moon influence that would enhance your spell? What about a day of the week?

One of the first things to think about is "what can I do mundanely? Never waste time magically with something you can do much more easily mundanely. Why waste energy? Just because you can do something magically does not mean you have to.

There are some ground rules to follow when casting a spell:

Never cast Love Spells & Voodoo Spells above your abilities:
Understand everything you do, know the reasons you perform a certain movement or speak a certain way. Do your homework so you don’t’ make a mistake and hurt others or foil your spell. Especially when it comes to love spells. Casting upon the wrong person can cause much more work in the long run. You should understand the logic of everything you do. You should understand the flow of energy into and out of you. You should understand the power of the heart in all spells.

Don't do magic or cast Spells to impress others, or yourself:
For both people who are with you and those you cast to. To do something to show off is a tip that you are insecure in what you do. To cast a spell so that others will know how magical you are is nothing more than ego. If you know you are strong and powerful then other people do not have to know that for it to be valid. Ward yourself, but wearing a neon sign says you do not have faith in yourself.

Never do things that are spooky to get attention:
In many ways this goes along with number 2. If you are doing magic to scare yourself and others you are showing off and not working with the energies around you. You are also leaving yourself open to bringing out the spooky, nasty part of yourself (I personally believe most demons are the parts of ourselves we are afraid of).

Perform a divination before you cast:
Before you cast your spell you will want to prepare your body with a ritual bath using the scent that will best enhance your purpose. Try some of fantastic Voodoo Goat's Milk Soaps, Magical Spiritual Bath Rituals or Perfume Anointing Oils especially in preparation to your Love Spell, Magic Spell or Spell Casting Ritual! As you bathe fill your mind and thoughts with what you wish to accomplish. Your soul should be full of purpose and your energy being gathered as you complete your bath. If you need to empty your mind of other thoughts and influences do so now.

Now you are ready to do the things you need to do to in order to cast your Love spells, Voodoo Spells, Witchcraft Spells and perform ritual spells and magic. It’s easy and fun!

Wishing you all a spooktacular night!

river road sightings

another image from my drive east/west daily. this shack was upright some 8 months ago and i have watched it fall into the river. the storms seem to press hardest against its grain..each wind storm or rain pounding takes it a little closer to the sirens call.its wooden corpse rises with the river level and seems to be fighting the inevitable. (segway : have we all not fought the inevitable? truly believing that we are stronger, or right or that others can be convinced to see things our way? each backbone tested for reliance, each fibre of our souls taught and rebellious no matter the odds. eventually we give, or we acquiesce)

i am shocked that the city or a tree hugger/ river saver of late has not gotten all up in arms as the owners let this drop into the riverway without regard.

it is not the only thing on this drives that seems to be forgotten. there are many water vessels and other dwellings creeping toward the river's sandy bottom.
i watch this dwelling with curiosity and anticipation of its final farewell and a quote comes to mind:
" barn's burnt down, now i can see the moon"

quote de jour!

from my freind hellsbell :

"You know that some people can be like leaves in the fall --- they stick to you no matter how hard you try to shake them off……"

love this quote..made me laugh out loud!

the lovely kitchen

faux leather harvest gold counter tops included!

back on track - reno's continue

the above picture shows how lovely grandma's space was when i bought it....

well i spent the summer far too distracted to even say! i am back on track with the reno's in my condo. bought the flooring on saturday and have stripped up all the lovely sculptured carpet and getting ready to put it down. i hate floors! everytime i say i'll never do another floor..i do another floor. work to date : new drywall on three walls due to the wallpaper damage, reconfigured the kitchen to allow a pass through to be cut (thanks pete and cormack for assisting) , new countertops and fixtures (thanks m for assisting) replaced all kitchen cabinets (thanks pete and sheriff for assisting), new bath room counters and capinets (thanks again pete). all new paint, hardware, lights and switches, crown moldings, slate backsplash, SS appliances and soon new floors. the floors are the last item except for the baseboards and trim around doors. gonna look damn fine when i am done...hope to be on the market soon. stand by for the updated pics soon...will take a few tonight....
and if you have time on your hands and would like to know how to put a floor in..stop by, beer is included!

brandi carlile

had the pleasure of attending a concert last night... brandi carlilie and a fine frenzy . both were awesome and very interactive. met a bunch of women on a "brandi" roadtrip. they had seen her three times in the last week, seattle ,portland and now vancouver. there was a very friendly fire fighter named lisa who bought me a beer! she told me she had not been to canada before!
for those of you who have not yet discovered brandi, here is a little taste..a fun song. she also impressed me with her cover of elton john's "madman across the water"
a fine frenzy is represented on my blog ....she is a power house voice

why i love home

have spent the last week in Toronto. ugghh how is hate this city. cement and pollution, too many cars and unsmiling faces..

i am so thankful of the place i call home, ocean near by, mountains that hug.

this pic above was taken in Tofino. it is my beacon in so many ways..points me to where my heart lies, my spirit is calm and the feeling of happiness resonates... i am drawn to that moment in so many ways. wish i could hold time still back then. wish all that was could still be.

cant imagine anywhere else i'd rather be.

carppe deium i tell the world. never take anything or anyone for granted. and even it feels funny, tell those around you that you love them.

emillie .....

we watched the leaves fall today and contemplate change. the colours of all that is new and renewed becomes lost in the transition of birth ;of death.
it is the knowingly slow difference between what we see and what is coming.the un - prescribed sense of shifting; unspoken yet predicable in nature, we greet the change as new and at times are in awe.
we walk and focus … our feet change colours as the fallen leaves pass over our boots. the sound of our steps becomes the score ; a musical direction of sorts. although each time our feet touch the earth it is different as we choose the highs and the lows based on the length and speed of our steps.each note written as the moment dictates.harsh steps, sullen placements or gentle connections with a forgiven softness, they become rhythmic; synchronized and we become connected in stride without conscience thought.

i am aware of the scents today and it sets the stage for the moment.i breathe in the scents of the coming winter through the smell of dead leaves swollen against a clogged sewer drain.
we walk with our heads down today and create no shadows. she is quiet in her exchange.

she exhales as she speaks. her breath creates a mist about our conversation and makes it private and intimate. ”what becomes of what we know when we have changed where we are?”

i find this thought uncomfortable yet familiar.i choose my words carefully almost protective in nature.

"the world is a tilt- a- whirl.we board, we experience, we let the ride end. and ultimately we decided how things affect us now versus before the ride began....how the momentary experience changes us and those around us. we decide; we essentially pick the ending to the storybook of the experience. and we reconcile the outcome at what ever the cost"

she sighs and speaks with purpose "should we let it hold us back in anyway? live in the past. should we acknowledge the moments, the good, the bad, the happiness, the perceived loves , the deceptions, the ultimate loss of promises undelivered? should it make us any less committed in the next step as we search to un-know the pain of the endings we don't like?”

i am silent, words elude me, my core shivers; this question begs for action and i have not the courage or the strength to think in forward terms, committed ideas…possibilities of the future reborn.i am transparent at the moment,a liquid being, mercury standing. i have no pulse.

i look into her eyes as my breath falls and becomes solid in the space between us.i squeeze my hands deeper into my pockets, fists tightens and my palms sweat.

the drain slowly opens.the leaves compress and i watch them disappear, aware that the earth eats its dead.

we stand frozen as the moment awaits a new beginning that only time can deliver.

"he who cannot forgive breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass." geroge herbert

have you ever done something you regret, made a decision you wish you could take back, presented a 'you" you wish was done in invisible ink or lived a life that you were not truly comfortable with?

i think the toughest thing to do is to forgive yourself.

gone to the dogs!

just when you think we can't get any sillier honouring overpaid actors of HW.

LONDON, England (AP) -- Bow wow, and take a bow: The furry and famous of the silver screen are being honored with their own walk of fame in London.
The first inductees will be six dogs chosen by public vote from a shortlist that includes Lassie, Toto of "The Wizard of Oz," cartoon superdog Gromit and Tintin's trusty companion, Snowy, organizers said Thursday.
The winners, announced November 5, will receive a permanent plaque in Battersea Park, south London. The nearby Battersea Dogs Home is Britain's largest and best-known home for abandoned dogs.
The walk of fame is sponsored by the Kennel Club and television channel Sky Movies.
"To immortalize these dogs within Battersea Park, a place intrinsically linked to dogs itself, is very important to the Kennel Club and promotes the importance of dogs within our lives," said Kennel Club Secretary Caroline Kisko.
Later this month, doggie stars will be honored at the first-ever Fido awards, billed as the canine equivalent of the Academy Awards. Among the leading contenders are five corgis who starred alongside Oscar winner Helen Mirren in "The Queen."

seattle fun

spent the weekend in seattle. it is such a great city. unless you are on a hunt for a pair of boots, ones that have to be so tall, so tight, so black and not so easy to find. we went in search of the perfect pair, came back with other misc items including sheet sets and groovy shoes! stayed downtown at the edgewater hotel..sounds great although the interior looks more like a cabin then some log homes i have been in.
on the way back, just before the alex fraser bridge i got a speeding ticket! first one in over 20 years! i told him he was ruining a perfect record...he didn't find any value in that statement at all. i guess 126 in a 90 will make ya a little too serious! he was kind enough to give me the smallest allowable fine of 138 bucks. less 25 bucks if you pay it in less than 30 days! what a great concept- i think we should get discounts in far more areas of life. lets start with utilities, cell phone bills and mortgage payments.

"fall" ing.... into a new season

just spent the past weekend taking in the okanagan wine fest. i had originally planned to get away with a.m. but her life took a hard left and she was unable to make the trek (she knows that i missed her presence immensely :( )

in 'subbed ' my spontaneous and high energy friend ..AC..i am grateful she was able to go with on such short notice.
we started the day early on the friday and i decided to travel via hwy 3 as the colours are spectacular now and with all the time to spare, you can take in any sight that catches your eye.... and often the ones that occur during any given pee spot.
this season is my favorite..the unique hues of natures pallet give you a visual buffet..enjoy the hints of reds, the splashes of orange and the floods of yellow. along the stretch of highway 3 you will find winding raging rivers, fields dotted with specks of cows and multi colored horses, blankets of bug wood and the changing leaves of maple trees. the local markets switch up the experience based on the harvest. this time of year the squash litter the landscape and adorn the markets. from pumpkins to ghost squash to turban squash the varied hard veggies leave one in awe. truly a great sight and as the picture above shows, the harvest allows the artist in everyone to express themselves!

we spent the weekend moving between kelowna and the naramata wine bench.the highlight was a gospel experience at the blasted church winery, headed up by the ever impressive jim byrnes blues experience. then off to a day of winery hoping and sipping fruits of the gods for breakfast! overall a great weekend had by all.

Gobble,Gobble

on the eve of thanksgiving i thought it would be fun to explore the bird we love to include in the celebration meal.
facts:
production turkeys are artificially inseminated as they are lazy lovers. the "toms" are milked and the hens get probed.
here is a great article on a guy who did this dirty deed as a job
www.upc-online.org/fall94/breeding.html

- Only tom turkeys gobble. The hens make a clicking noise.
- Canada is the eighth largest producer of turkeys at 19.6 million a year
- History associates turkey with the first Thanksgiving feast celebrated by the Pilgrims in 1621
-When US astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin sat down to eat their first meal on the moon in their historic 1969 voyage, their foil food packets contained roasted turkey and all the trimmings.
- Recent fossil evidence has been dated to show that turkeys have roamed the Americas for about 10 million years.
- Sandwiches are the most popular form of turkey consumption
- Turkey is high protein, low fat, low cholesterol
- Turkey down is used in pillows. Wing feathers are used in fletching arrows
- Their field of vision is 270 degrees.
- They can fly short distances at up to 90 km/h and can run at speeds up to 40 km/h - domestic turkeys do not fly due to selective breeding
- Turkeys do not see well at night

Bon appetite

A Fine Frenzy - Whisper

sometmes i am amazed how the words of another can crawl so easily under my skin and into a secret part of me...i allow it to seep from surface to heart..and in a moment it becomes the food i crave.... it feeds my pain, my joy, my wishes,my regrets.
i play it over and over again until it attaches itself to the cells of my unborn satisfactions...

this comes to me from a.m. , i thank her for this find.

please listen ....

But if you keep real close
Yeah, you stay real close
I will reach you
