randomness

pic- compliments of flickr.com, langley WA, go there.

wow, my weekend was so full!
i left the city alone, wee RV in tow- thought i would have a quiet and uneventful space.

got to deception pass state park late friday PM, the snow started in the wee hours!
saturday while walking to the refuse place a very nice camper started to talk to me in broken words...he signed that he was deaf..well lil know fact, many years ago i achieved my level one sign certificate..so my brain quickly goes to find what lil reference and ability it can find , and we start to converse..i learn alot about my temp neighbours- four on board, from bc and seattle, new RV, they are fun and friendly and laugh as i stumble through my bad signing..as i work hard at a visual connection room filled without sound...i do ok, my long time friend and the woman who taught me to sign would be proud that i even tried...my new camper friends are so kind and so sweet- wayne is a chatty cathy and seeks me out sunday morning to tell stories and say goodbye.

then on sunday, my new friend ls takes me on a tour of whidbey island- known as the "rock" like our own island. she drove me through the seaside landscape, told me stories of history and impact. we ended up in langley WA at a great lil bistro called "primo". lunch was grand complete with oysters on the half shell and she tells me that the mussels from penn cove are world renown! it was so nice to meet someone who has the same sense of adventure that i do- it was so good to hang with her- she is an accomplished song writer and has produced a cd. for a wanna-be musician, i am an awe of such talent. she is charming and comfortable to be around. i am so thankful for her time.

random people, random meeting, random connections. fuk- i had a weekend that was full beyond what i could ever expect.

life is good and i am blessed.

416 children and 350 lawyers -Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

A huge moral dilemma!

Under Texas law, if sexual abuse is occurring in a home and a parent does not stop it, then the parent can lose custodial rights. A major issue will be how a home is defined — whether by the individual house each child lived in or by the larger ranch.

If the judge gives the state permanent custody, it will have an enormous challenge in finding homes for the children. The agency has relied on volunteers to help feed the children, launder linens and provide crafts and games for them in a dorm-style setting for the past two weeks. But the agency will have to find stable homes and try to decipher sibling relationships that should be preserved if it gets permanent custody.

Even identifying groups of siblings has been challenging so far.

"There's quite a lot of difficulty in identifying how many of these children are biologically related to one another. There's a large number who are half-siblings," Gonzales said.

The sect came to West Texas in 2003. The judge also must decide whether it's in the best interest of children who have lived insulated lives to be suddenly placed into mainstream society, Hays said.

evil, well we wanted to be...

PP and i hatched a great plan...

the "c" s are in disneyland...we were going to go to their house and move their bedroom to the dinning room and versa visa. oh yeah, so they would arrive home later tonight and have to sleep in the dinning room! friggin funny right?
well, brother "m" was staying there to look after the dogs- he kiboshed us! said he would have to take the flack, never mind spend the next two days in the dinning room!some people have zero sense of ha-ha!

so we did another sorta evil thing..we went into their closet and tried on all of their clothes! great pics, too funny, especially pp in a "bea arthur" outfit and me as "anne murray" christ the fun we had...and the one above..uniform abuse :) always wondered how i would look in navy blue - might have been different if it had fit!

a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY

pic: flickr.com, i think it may have looked like this.
recently my friend e when to Chicago, i asked her to bring me back the tackiest thing for under five bucks she could find...

she had purchased a snow globe, but it never made in on the plane! the security idiots took it away...i cant figure that one out- cause it was over 100ml of snow and water or do the really think it could be an explosive snow globe?
...kinda a funny thought of it going off in the plane and watching all the faces of 300 passengers as they are coated with fake snow and sparkles!!

crazy..but now i really want it...

emilie welcomes spring

we are standing in giant fields of tulips. flat and in motion , each shift of the eyes creates a personal kaleidoscope of brilliant colors. we are captured still in this pallet of natures artwork.
looking into the distance, melted images held fast by the definitions of pedals, leaves and stems seem to flow beyond the confines of the floral boundaries. at times, you are not sure if they are actually flowers or a deeply woven rug.

scents abound but none we are use to. it smells of green, of growth and renewal. pleasant aromas tingle our noses and we take a mutual strong breath. this act is invigorating and we close our eyes to appreciate the pureness of the bouquet.

as we open our eyes we are connected and intimate in our exchange. our gaze is frozen and we smile at the simple peace within the moment.

we walk on slowing not wanting the end of the rug to be underfoot . we feel the wind change and it is now at our backs, the floral waves around us ebb and flow.unpredcitable and beautiful.

magnificent is the outlook, grandly magnificent.
