so it goes

heres a pic of the first stages to installing the heating system for under the tiles..
well, i have not done this before so after three goes of getting the right ratio of floor vs cord...we are ready to tile tomorrow

the best part? when Am saved me
the worst part? sacrificed yet another blackberry to the water gods!

my back is killing me today. this weekend should prove the most gratifying; floors and cabinets,,,yipee,going in!

kitchen demo

well, friday 18 hour day with work in there - sat 14 hour day, sunday 8 hour day!
am's kids were on hand and who knew they would take such pleasure in wheeling a tool and demo'ing the 1930's kitchen they have spent staring at for the last 7 years?
they did a fab job! am's nemesis was the floor...turns out the person who lifted the lino last left the backing down! so on hands and knees scaper in hand...the rather nice wood floor was cleared...and it looks great, well, great enough to be tiled!"the artist knows the truth of the creation" - so no fretting am!

decsions on floor tile and backsplash are super cool, this is gonna be one sexy kitchen!

me? i had a my hands full with antiquated plumbing, electrical and plaster wall rebuild.. uhh..still have more to do but we are very much under way. i left am's as she stood on a ladder paint brush in hand...


my ass is sooo tired today! but a good tired :)

am's kitchen project

the cabinets arrive early! delivery tomorrow..so we begin the demo a week ahead of schedule. she is so excited to have a new kitchen! it is great to see her so involved in this project. i have seen her work and she is a great partner this way.

so far she has been busy picking out tile, paint, hardware, new appliances etc - we'll see how she feels when the real work begins!

so with hammer and safety glasses on board we begin

the cesspool of sexual defiance has finally given up the fight to ban gay marriages! jesus, now i bet SF will be having one kick ass party and mass ceremony! 2008 and peole still have to fight for equal rights?? amazing.

today we celebrate the birth of my lil brother...funny,charming, stubborn, opinionated and a heart of gold.

he irritated the shit out of me when we were kids! i think he just wanted to be my friend. so fast forward to now...he is a treasured soul in my life and i love him tons.

however...how can a man turning 43 today still be considered my "lil brother"?
